The recovery media creation software only allows you to make one set of recovery discs, so what happens if you lose them. Well you could try renaming the following files:

hpcd.sys

or

hpdrcu.prc

There are usually two copies of these files one in the 'Windows' folder the other on the recovery partition. Safest method is not to delete them just rename the file extension to .old.
