Banshee is FOSS multimedia software for Linux able to play a range of audio and video formats, an iTunes equivalent. It works with a wide range of music players, the devices that cause the most issues are Apple's iPod Touch and iPhone.

SETTINGS LOCATION IN UBUNTU

Banshee settings are located in two places in a user's home folder and are hidden by default so first ensure you can see them.

In Nautilus/Nemo press CTRL+H to show hidden files and folders.

Then navigate to:

/home/%username%/.config/banshee-1

/home/%username%/.gconf/apps/banshee-1

AUDIO DISC IMPORT

To alter:

Edit >> Preferences >> Source Specific (tab) >> Source (drop down menu) >> Audio CDs (entry).

The on-screen view will then alter allowing to the selection of audio import type, bitrate etc.
